Col. John Blanche III – Executive Director (1981-1997)
Former Federal Bar Association Executive Director John G. Blanche III passed away September 6, 2011 at the age of 80. Following a 30-year career in the military, which included service in Germany, Korea, India and Vietnam—where he commanded an artillery battalion, Col. Blanche served as Executive Director of the Federal Bar Association from 1981 until his retirement in February 1997.
Among his many military awards and decorations are the Joint Service Commendation Medal, two Meritorious Service Medals, four Air Medals, two awards of the Legion of Merit, and the Bronze Star. (September 9, 2011)
