Professional membership is open to any person admitted to the practice of law before a federal court or a court of record in any of the several states, commonwealths, territories, or possessions of the United States or in the District of Columbia. Any person who is admitted to practice law before a court or administrative tribunal of a country other than the United States of America is eligible to become a foreign associate of the association.

Private Practice Attorney: $300

Discounted Rate of $155 for the following members:
Newer Attorney Admitted to Practice 5 or less years
Solo Practitioner
Public Sector Attorney
Retired

Sustaining Membership: $500

You distinguish yourself when you become a Sustaining Member of the Association. A portion of sustaining dues are used to support educational programs and publications of the FBA. Sustaining Members receive a 5% discount on the FBA member-rate registration fees for all national meetings and national CLE events. They also receive recognition in The Federal Lawyer Magazine.

Foreign Associates: $300

Law Students (Free)

Any judge of the Federal courts established under Article III of the Constitution of the United States, any United States Bankruptcy Judge, any United States Magistrate Judge, and any judge of a Federal court established under Article I of the Constitution of the United States who is nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate shall be offered honorary membership in the Association. The “Clerk of Court,” “Deputy Clerk,” “Divisional Clerk,” or “Executive” of a Federal court established under Article I or Article III of the Constitution of the United States or a tribal court of record, or his or her designee is eligible to receive a complimentary membership during their service.
