Allen I. Saeks, senior counsel at Leonard, Street and Deinard, has received the Eighth Circuit Richard S. Arnold Award for Distinguished Service and Lifetime Achievement for the Federal Court for the District of Minnesota.
Saeks accepted the award on August 9, during a recognition ceremony at the 2012 Eighth Circuit Judicial Conference in Kansas City, Missouri.
The award is given to one attorney from each of the Districts in the Eighth Circuit. Nominations were received from the chief judges of the District Courts and approved by the Eighth Circuit Bar Association. This new award commemorates the life and accomplishments of Richard S. Arnold, longtime chief judge of the Eighth Circuit who died in 2004. Arnold was known for his work on issuing influential rulings involving individual rights.
Saeks, who concentrates his practice in commercial and business litigation, has been a leader in Minnesota’s legal community for more than 50 years.
Saeks remarked “I was honored to be nominated for this award by Chief Judge Michael Davis and his colleagues on the Minnesota Federal Bench, which I consider to be one of the best federal benches in the country.”
Praised for his professionalism by his peers, Saeks repeatedly has been named among The Best Lawyers in America and is listed in Who’s Who in American Law. In addition, he has received both the Minnesota Lawyer Attorney of the Year Award and the Attorney Professionalism Award from the Hennepin County Bar Association.
Saeks is a member of the Federal Bar Association’s Minnesota Chapter and Federal Litigation Section.
