The application period for the 2026 Award is now open.

The FBA each year seeks to recognize chapters making a positive impact in their community. The Chapter Community Outreach Award recognizes the achievements of FBA chapters for the past award year (May 15, 2025 – May 16, 2026). Among the considerations for this award are:

  • The extent to which the chapter’s community outreach programs strengthen the federal legal system
  • The impact in the community; whether FBA members conducted the community outreach programs
  • How the chapter’s community outreach programs increased the profile of or affected the chapter or the federal courts
  • The extent to which the chapter’s community outreach programs demonstrated a commitment to volunteerism and community service

Award Eligibility 

Please limit your responses to activities that occurred during this time. Among the considerations for this Award are:

  • The extent to which the chapter’s community outreach programs strengthen the federal legal system and the administration of justice;
  • The extent to which the chapter’s community outreach programs have had a significant impact in the community;
  • The extent to which the chapter’s community outreach programs were initiated and conducted by, and involved, Federal Bar Association members;
  • The extent to which the chapter’s community outreach programs involved, increased the profile of or affected the chapter, including the chapter’s relations with the community and the courts;
  • The extent to which the chapter’s community outreach programs involved, increased the profile of or affected the federal courts; and
  • The extent to which the chapter’s community outreach programs demonstrated a commitment to volunteerism and community service.

Describe each of your chapter’s community outreach programs and describe why your chapter deserves to receive the Chapter Community Outreach Award, addressing the above factors specifically and any other factors that you believe demonstrate why your chapter deserves to receive the Award. Include any recognition received by the community and/or the media (include any articles or photos, if desired).
