In 2016, I was given the wonderful opportunity to serve as general counsel (GC) of a newly formed publicly traded company. I had been dreaming about becoming a GC for several years and thus had been actively been preparing myself for the moment when the opportunity would present itself.

Building a relationship is more than soliciting business; it is about developing a connection. It is built on a true understanding of your client's goals, personal interest, and, of course, their business.
