Greetings Members and Friends of the North Alabama Chapter!

I look forward to serving as your president in 2019. My commitment to you is to fill the year with relevant programming and quality CLE. Expect bi-monthly luncheons with topical speakers, and our annual Labor & Employment and Acquisition Symposiums bringing experts in federal employment and acquisition law from across the federal government and private sector to Huntsville Alabama.

If you or someone you know would like to speak at a luncheon please let me know. We would like to provide ethics CLE at a luncheon this year. Please provide a relevant topic that we can cover in an hour!

About our Chapter:

As most of you know, we were chartered in 1958 as the Explorer Chapter, Huntsville Alabama, the North Alabama Chapter is comprised mostly of attorneys who work for the federal government (Missile Defense Agency, Army, Army Corps of Engineers, NASA, US District Court for the Northern District of Alabama) and private sector attorneys who focus on government contract matters. Our Chapter is small with just under 60 members, but we do great things for the North Alabama legal community! More members lead to more meaningful input on how our Chapter can benefit local federal practitioners, so please spread the word about the benefits of membership. Of course, we always welcome friends to participate in our events.

We present 2 keystone Symposiums each year:

  1. Annual Symposium on Government Acquisition, Recent Developments in Government Contracting. For 46 years the Chapter has brought experts in government acquisition law from the public and private sector to Huntsville Alabama for a 2 day, 12-13 hour CLE Symposium. For more information about this event, check out the “Recent Events” tab on this site for the list of topics and speakers at the 46th Annual Symposium held 12-13 December 2018. The Symposium on Government Acquisition is held in the fall each year.

  2. Annual Symposium on Labor and Employment Law. For 16 years the Chapter has brought experts in government labor & employment law, to include EEOC attorneys and Judges, to Huntsville for a 1 day, 6 hour CLE Symposium. For more information about this event, check out the December 2018 Labor & Employment Law brochure on the “Recent Events” tab.

The costs of the Symposiums are kept low, less than $40/CLE hour! Any profits made help the Chapter to defray member’s monthly luncheon costs AND participate in charitable giving.
