Greetings Members and Friends of the North Alabama Chapter!
Our goal is to provide relevant programming and quality CLE. Events range from luncheons with topical speakers to our annual Labor & Employment and Acquisition Symposiums. We bring experts in federal employment and acquisition law from across the federal government and private sector to Huntsville, Alabama to provide you with a relevant and enjoyable CLE experience.
If you or someone you know would like to speak at a luncheon please let us know. Topics such as Professional Responsibility, Government Ethics, and opportunities from senior practitioners traveling into the area are always welcome. Lunch topics should be relevant topics that we can cover in an hour!
About our Chapter:
Our chapter was chartered in 1958 as the Explorer Chapter, Huntsville, Alabama. The North Alabama Chapter is comprised of a mix of private practitioners and attorneys who work for the federal government (Missile Defense Agency, Army Materiel Command, Space and Missile Defense Command, Army Corps of Engineers, NASA, US District Court for the Northern District of Alabama). Most private sector attorneys focus on government contract matters. We urge you to support our chapter by joining the Federal Bar Association. More members lead to more meaningful input on how our Chapter can benefit local federal practitioners, so please spread the word about the benefits of membership. Of course, we always welcome friends to participate in our events.
We have historically presented 2 keystone Symposiums each year:
- Annual Symposium on Government Acquisition, Recent Developments in Government Contracting. For 46 years the Chapter has brought experts in government acquisition law from the public and private sector to Huntsville Alabama for a 2 day, 12-13 hour CLE Symposium. - Annual Symposium on Labor and Employment Law. For over 20 years the Chapter has brought experts in government labor & employment law, to include EEOC attorneys and Judges, to Huntsville for a 1 day, 6 hour CLE Symposium. For more information about this event, check out our page on Eventbrite.
