Statement on Judicial Security

The American public has sharply divided viewpoints on recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions. The Federal Bar Association takes no position on those decisions. The Federal Bar Association is committed to preserving, advancing, and protecting the rule of law. The cornerstone of our democracy is an independent judiciary, which includes, without limitation, judicial security and public confidence in the judicial process. The Federal Bar Association condemns violence against or intimidation of any judicial officer and encourages respect for the judicial process, regardless of an individual’s agreement or disagreement with the outcome of a particular judicial decision.
