Venus M. Prince

Venus McGhee Prince is a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians and returned home to serve Wind Creek Hospitality as Chief Compliance Officer in April 2019. Prior to becoming Chief Compliance Officer, she served as the Tribe’s Attorney General from 2006-2013 where she managed all legal services for the Tribe, including PCI Gaming (Wind Creek Hospitality). She then served for two years as the Deputy Solicitor for Indian Affairs in the U.S. Department of Interior, where she managed all legal services related to tribal issues before the Department. Most recently, she worked in the Native American Affairs team at the law firm of Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton on a variety of legal and regulatory issues for tribes and their gaming and economic development entities across the country. Venus graduated Harvard College in 1995 and earned her law degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1998. In addition to being the CCO, Venus continues to serve as the Secretary for the Federal Bar Association’s Indian Law Section Board and a member of the American Law Institute, the leading organization of distinguished lawyers, judges, and academics who influence the development of the law in emerging areas, including Indian law.
