Lauren L. Millcarek

Lauren Millcarek is the career law clerk for the Honorable Roy B. “Skip” Dalton, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. At the Court, Lauren drafts orders on dispositive motions in complex, high-profile cases, assists the Judge with civil and criminal trials, and trains and supervises the term clerks. She also served as Judge Dalton’s term law clerk at the beginning of her career.

In between her clerkships, Lauren served as a litigation associate at Holland & Knight and then as a senior litigation associate at Shutts & Bowen. Lauren practiced complex federal litigation, specializing in multi-party business litigation, class actions, cyber-fraud, whistleblower disputes, and white-collar criminal defense. A frequent speaker on federal law and women’s empowerment topics, Lauren has been named a Best Lawyers in America One to Watch, a Super Lawyers Rising Star, and a Legal Elite Up and Comer.

Lauren is active in the legal community at the local, state, and national levels. She currently serves as President of the Central Florida Association for Women Lawyers, the Rules Subcommittee Chair of the Florida Bar’s Federal Court Practice Committee, and the Eleventh Circuit Vice President for the national Federal Bar Association. She has previously served as Chair of the Federal Grievance Committee in Orlando, President of the Orlando Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, Lobbying Chair of the statewide Florida Association for Women Lawyers, and a Fellow of the Florida Bar’s Leadership Academy. A proud double Gator, Lauren was elected the Executive Managing Editor of the Florida Law Review and the President of the Law Association for Women during her time in law school, and she now serves on the UF Law Alumni Council.
