Kip T. Bollin is past president of the Federal Bar Association (2017-2018). He is also a litigation partner at Thompson Hine LLP and Partner in Charge of the firm’s Cleveland office. He represents clients faced with business and product liability claims, including class actions. His business litigation practice includes the defense of putative class actions, commercial claims, consumer claims, patent claims (litigation counsel, working with patent counsel), and other state and federal causes of action. In the product liability area, he represents corporations in the defense of putative class actions, personal injury, mass torts, toxic torts, consumer and warranty claims.
Kip serves as Chair of the Northern District of Ohio Advisory Group, a court-appointed panel charged with providing information on matters of interest to the court, assisting in the implementation of court-adopted programs, and bringing to the court’s attention matters of interest to the bar and the community.
Prior to serving as President of the FBA, Kip served his local Northern District of Ohio Chapter as Younger Lawyers Committee Chair, CLE Committee Chair, and all chapter officer positions including Chapter President for the 2010-11 term. Kip was elected to the national FBA Board of Directors in 2012, and was subsequently elected Treasurer and President-elect of the Federal Bar Association.
Kip graduated from New York University and Georgetown Law. He was admitted to the practice of law in 1995, and began his legal career as a law clerk to Hon. Sam H. Bell of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. He is married to Cathy, and is father to Emily and Kenny.
