Jimmie C. Herring, Jr. serves as the Chair for the International Law Section for the Federal Bar Association. He currently serves as an Attorney for the Federal Government in Houston, Texas. He previously served as a Federal Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable United States District Judge Jerry Edwards, Jr. for the Western District of Louisiana. He also served as an Attorney Advisor for the Executive Office for Immigration Review, originally entering duty through the prestigious Department of Justice’s Attorney General’s Honors Program.
He graduated with honors from Southern University and A&M College with his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and as an alum of the Delores Margaret Richard Spikes Honors College. Jimmie graduated from Louisiana State University with his Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Public Policy. He earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from Southern University Law Center with honors. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Louisiana and in Washington, DC. Jimmie is involved in several sections of the FBA and also serves as the Fifth Circuit Director and Representative for the Younger Lawyers Division of the FBA. Jimmie has been awarded and recognized by several bar associations and organizations for his achievements in the legal profession.
