The Dallas Chapter was organized and installed in 1944 by National President, the Honorable Tom C. Clark. Today, the Dallas Chapter has approximately 200 members from private practice, government agencies, military branches, local law schools and local courts. The Dallas Chapter was proud to host the 2002 Annual Meeting and Convention of the Federal Bar Association for the inauguration of the 2002 National President Kent Hofmeister, a former Dallas Chapter president.

Our chapter has a long history of leadership in the Federal Bar Association. Marc Taubenfeld, a former Dallas Chapter president now serves as the Vice President for the Fifth Circuit. Martha Hardwick Hofmeister, former Dallas Chapter president and Vice President for the Fifth Circuit, was elected to the Board of Directors of the Foundation of the Federal Bar Association at the 2006 Annual Convention and currently serves as a National Council Appointed Member. Marc Taubenfeld and Judge Harlin Hale, Bankruptcy Judge of the Northern District of Texas, have served on the board of the FBA Bankruptcy Law Section.
