Connecting the Federal Bench and Bar
The FBA advances the welfare, education, and professional development of everyone engaged in federal law through a network of chapters across the country and an active presence in our nation’s capital.
National Reach
From Washington, the FBA monitors and engages in federal policymaking on a strictly nonpartisan basis—a stance that has earned the FBA lasting credibility on Capitol Hill and in the Executive Branch. Our advocacy priorities include:
Judiciary funding and implementation of the Daniel Anderl Judicial Security and Privacy Act
Federal judgeships and caseload relief
Independence of the federal judiciary
Independent Article I immigration courts
Local Impact
The FBA’s network of more than 100 chapters nationwide brings federal practitioners together for CLE programming, collegial events, and meaningful engagement with the federal courts in their communities. As an honorary member, your local chapter offers a ready forum for connecting with the federal bar in your jurisdiction.
FBA Judiciary Division
The Judiciary Division gives members of the bench a platform to share perspectives from their jurisdictions and to support the bar through signature FBA programs:
- Judicial Intern Academy;
- Civil Discourse and Difficult Decisions Program;
- Courts and Civility Program;
- Judicial Profiles;
- Contributions to The Federal Lawyer; and
- Leadership opportunities across chapters, sections, and divisions.
Optional: Sustaining Honorary Membership
Honorary members have full rights and privileges of membership but are exempt from payment of dues.
In addition to your honorary membership, you may become a sustaining honorary member of the FBA; these dues are $250 annually. When activating your account in the FBA Online Portal, you will have the option to become a sustaining honorary member if you wish.
