Join us for the FBA’s latest “Day in the Life” Panel. We will be featuring four attorneys practicing in the field of federal litigation. Learn more about different paths into the field, what skills are helpful when practicing federal litigation, and what a day in the life of a federal litigator looks like. About the Presenters
Andrea Marconi, Attorney, Fennemore Craig
Andrea Marconi is an experienced litigator working in Phoenix, Arizona at Fennemore Craig, an AmLaw 200 firm with offices throughout the Western U.S. Andrea is the Vice-Chair of Fennemore’s business litigation group and has a diverse litigation practice serving clients in numerous industries, including real estate, healthcare and health insurance, and financial services. Andrea routinely arbitrates and litigates cases in federal and state courts across the country with extensive experience in a wide variety of disputes, such as real estate and other contract disputes, insurance coverage and indemnity, restrictive covenants, trade secret litigation and business governance disputes. She also serves as the Chair of the Federal Bar Association’s Federal Litigation Section. The Federal Litigation Section is the FBA’s largest Section with nearly 3,000 members nationwide.

Nicole Deese Newlon, Partner, Johnson, Newlon & DeCort, P.A.
Nicole Newlon is the immediate past chair of the Federal Litigation Section. Nicole previously served in a variety of positions in her local chapter in Tampa, including President. She is a commercial litigator at Johnson, Newlon, & DeCort in Tampa, Florida. Nicole is a Trustee of the Pasco Hernando State College and a Rotarian.
Stuart B. Leijon, Associate Attorney, Chernoff Vilhauer LLP
Stuart is an associate attorney at Chernoff Vilhauer LLP, a boutique technology firm, where his practice focuses on litigation, intellectual property, and privacy law. He was admitted to practice in Oregon in October of 2021 and has since been admitted to Washington State and the Federal District of Oregon. Stuart volunteers with the Federal Bar Association as an Intellectual Property Chair for the Federal Litigation Section and with the Portland Art Museum as a member of the Contemporary Art Council Board of Directors.
Brett Amron, Founder, Bast Amron LLP
Brett Amron advises clients nationally in complex business and bankruptcy litigation with an emphasis on director and officer liability(D&O), breach of fiduciary duty, partnership and shareholder disputes, fraud, and avoidance and recovery of preferential and fraudulent transfers. Brett represents court-appointed fiduciaries, trustees, receivers, corporations, shareholders, individuals, creditors’ committees, and secured and unsecured creditors.
Brett heads the Bast Amron LLP Director and Officer Liability fiduciary practice, which identifies, investigates, and prosecutes claims against directors and officers. By maximizing the return on insurance coverage, Brett has been able to produce recoveries to creditors totaling tens of millions of dollars.
Brett began practicing law as a prosecutor in Miami. From there, he joined a large local firm in its bankruptcy litigation group, where he was elevated to partner.
