Summer Law Clerk Program: Institute of Museum and Library Services Agency Overview

The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) is an independent federal agency that advances, supports, and empowers the nation’s museums and libraries through grantmaking, research, and policy development. Representatives from the Office of General Counsel will discuss what it is like to be an attorney at a small agency and will provide an overview of the wide range of substantive areas on which they advise, including administrative law and the interpretation of our authorizing legislation, federal grants law, appropriations law, employment law, civil rights compliance, ethics standards, and open government law.

The Summer Law Clerk Program provides students, legal interns, and recent graduates with the opportunity to participate in a variety of presentations hosted by various FBA leaders, federal agencies, and other notable speakers. These free webinars allow attendees to learn directly from practitioners about career development, missions and operations, employment opportunities, and more!
