Northern District of Indiana Chapter – Bench & Bar CLE • Revival of the Chapter
The Federal Bar Association is reviving the Northern District of Indiana Chapter to reconstitute the chapter with new
leadership, enhance the practice of law within the federal courts through continuing legal education, and create professional networking opportunities for attorneys and judges.
To launch this initiative, the Federal Bar Association, with help from Lake County’s Calumet American Inns of Court, is
hosting an in-person Bench & Bar CLE. Join federal judges and practitioners for a day of substantive discussion on criminal
and civil practice, followed by a reception in the courthouse atrium.

District Judges Philip P. Simon, Gretchen S. Lund, and Cristal C. Brisco (participating remotely), and Magistrate Judges
Andrew P. Rodovich, John E. Martin, Abizer A. Zanzi, and Andrew C. Teel.
Topics & Takeaways
Attendees will gain valuable insights into judicial expectations and best practices in federal litigation. Topics may include: summary judgment, motion practice, discovery, settlement conferences, pretrial detention, trial, sentencing, state-court removals and remands.

CLE Credit & Cost
The event, including morning refreshments, lunch, and reception, is free of charge. Participants will earn over 4 hours of
Indiana CLE credit. Attorneys licensed in other states may apply for reciprocal credit in accordance with their state’s rules.
Registration (Space is Limited)
CLE sessions will take place in the jury assembly room. Space is limited and registration will be accepted on a first-come,
first-served basis. Interested participants are encouraged to register early.
