New Orleans Chapter: Town Hall Zoom With EDLA Chief Judge Nannette Jolivette Brown

On Wednesday, May 27 from 2 – 3 pm, FBA New Orleans Chapter President-Elect Steve Griffith Jr. will interview Chief Judge Nannette Jolivette Brown to discuss the impact of the pandemic on EDLA operations, the current state of affairs, the court’s COVID-19 General Order-06, the court’s videoconferencing/teleconferencing platforms and their potential and limitations, current statistics on filings, and the Administrative Office’s phased reconstitution of services guidance.

Members of the New Orleans Chapter of the Federal Bar Association are invited to submit questions, suggestions, comments and/or recommendations to fbaneworleans@gmail.com by 5:00 pm on May 25, 2020. Anticipated topics for discussion include new filings, deadlines in pending cases, virtual motion practice, engaging in virtual settlement conferences, bench trials, and the challenges incident to restarting jury proceedings.
