Los Angeles Chapter: Vanishing Women Litigators
Vanishing Women Litigators: Challenges Faced by Women Litigators and Strategies for Disrupting the Status Quo As We Emerge From the Pandemic
Wednesday, June 2 | 10 AM – 11 AM PST
FBA-LA Chapter presents its inaugural program focused on women lawyers. It has been over 150 years since the first woman passed the bar exam in the United States and women now make up more than half of law school graduates and over one-third of practicing lawyers. Yet, the number of women in senior roles in the legal industry is disproportionately low, with minimal progress in the past decade. Recent studies showing that the pandemic has made things far worse, with an alarming percentage of women lawyers contemplating downsizing their career or leaving the profession altogether. This program will feature distinguished women leaders discussing challenges and opportunities for women litigators during these times of uncertainty and sharing inspiring anecdotes and strategies for disrupting the status quo and reversing the trend.
