Law Student Series: Federal Prosecutor Panel Discussion – Working with OIGs
Please join speakers Paul Kaufman, Assistant United States Attorney in the Civil Division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania; Michael McCarthy, Criminal Trial Attorney, DOJ Criminal Division, Fraud Section; and Frieda Zimmerman, Special Assistant United States Attorney at the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of the Inspector General, Eastern District of Washington. The prosecutors will discuss their experiences working civil and criminal cases with various Offices of the Inspector General (OIGs), and how Special Assistant United States Attorneys (SAUSAs) are detailed to work OIG cases in Districts throughout the country.
