Bankruptcy Law Section: Circuit Writer Call

Join the Bankruptcy Law Section’s next Circuit Writers call on Friday, February 28 at 3:30 pm EST to discuss recent notable cases.

The Circuit Updates are timely and regular, brief updates of important bankruptcy cases distributed to Section members. Cases typically include circuit bankruptcy decisions and notable published and unpublished Bankruptcy Appellate Panel, District Court, and Bankruptcy Court decisions. Join the Circuit Writers and:

• Showcase your writing and expertise to your peers
• Discuss new and relevant bankruptcy law with other lawyers and judges during section-wide conference calls
• Craft summaries and/or analysis of compelling recent bankruptcy decisions from your region of the country
• Have fun while networking and staying on top of interesting and developing bankruptcy law across the United States

Are you a new writer looking to get involved? Follow the guidelines below:

• Draft your summaries and analysis however works best for you!
• Short—can be bullet point highlights of around 200 words
• Synthesize—key rule(s) and issue(s) when appropriate
• Medium—consider breaking out issue(s); holding(s); key facts; reasoning; and perhaps notable points when longer treatment is warranted
• Further commentary—we can include as a separate attachment for those ambitious enough!
• Process—use the Circuit Writer membership list to coordinate with other writers in your Circuit, and determine case coverage and workflow; send submissions by the second week of the month to be compiled and circulated at the end of the month; discuss on bi-monthly calls
