Fast Fashion: A Comparative Analysis of the Regulatory Framework Governing the Industry
1:45 – 2:45 pm
Fast fashion dominates the legal discourse: from intellectual property, to AI, racketeering, sustainability, labor violations, class actions and so much more. What are the latest lawsuits, the latest legislation, and what is next for this rapidly evolving area of the law. Join our panelists as we discuss perspectives from both the US and EU.
The Power of Fame: Controlling Your Legal Budget in Enforcing and Defending Famous Brands
3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Fame… Everybody wants it, but not everyone has it. The power of fame has significant impact on a brand’s ability to control its brand across a wide variety of goods and services. But the evidentiary burden placed on a brand to show fame is high, and can result in extensive litigation. Panelists will address the difficulties of global enforcement and the pitfalls of cease and desist letters in a famous brand’s enforcement strategy.
Market Power or Market Monopoly? Examining Mergers in a New Political Landscape
4:15 pm – 5:15 pm
Antitrust and fashion intersect where large fashion mergers (such as Tapestry/Capri and Neiman Marcus/Saks) face scrutiny from regulators. But antitrust violations can also lead to litigation arising from sellers, manufacturers, competitors, and many others in the fashion industry. These are critical issues that can result in endless and costly litigation. Panelists will address these issues from both US and EU perspectives, and provide critical insight on how to navigate the current political landscape.
