2020 Virtual Annual Meeting Merges Tradition and Technology

With careful preparation, a commitment to quality, and diverse panel topics, the Federal Bar Association is proud to present a 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting that will set new benchmarks for effective learning, governance, and networking.  The FBA is excited to offer our Annual Meeting FREE to all members!  Registration includes access to the General and CLE Sessions, Roundtables, Lounges, and Networking Events.  Nonmembers pay only $100.  Register now at fedbar.org/fba-2020-virtual-annual-meeting.

Pivoting from an in-person to a virtual Annual Meeting supplies conference-goers with a host of benefits.  The Federal Bar Association’s Virtual Annual Meeting runs from September 8 – 11, and it will combine tradition and technology.  The virtual format will include registration perks, discussion groups, live-broadcast panels, virtual social events, and business meetings with a schedule that will accommodate the various locations of our national membership.

We’ve reached an inflection point as the nationwide response to COVID-19 evolves.  The FBA’s goal during this time is to be as helpful and informative as possible to our members.  Professional communities have moved from an era of in-person events to remote models of working and learning.  The FBA continues to reimagine the future of legal work and deliver technologies that put members at the center of the advancement of the science of jurisprudence and promote the welfare, interests, education, and professional development of all attorneys involved in federal law.

Attendees of the 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting can expect to experience a vital virtual conversation with judges, lawyers, and sponsors.  Speakers will implement audio and video clips to complement and illustrate ideas. This well-prepared, live content will encourage audience interaction and content contributions from attendees.  Speaker presentations are being designed to elicit questions from the audience and incorporate pre/post event discussion, all critical sources of attendee interaction and content generation. CLE panels will cover such varied topics as:

  • Pretrial Detention and Justice in the Age of Coronavirus;
  • Using Special Masters to Help Deal with the New Normal in Federal Court;
  • Understanding Changes to Existing Federal Employment Law;
  • The Ford Cases and the Supreme Court’s Ruling on Personal Jurisdiction;
  • Perspectives on a Civil Plaintiff Filing Bankruptcy from Both Sides of the ‘V’; and
  • The Scope and Limitations of Presidential Power Authority to Suspend and Expand Immigration.

The Annual Meeting agenda will be energized, sessions will be spread out, and because a virtual conference doesn’t require attendees to travel, we’re already seeing a surge in registrants to join our virtual event.  This year’s virtual format means members can connect and engage with a large group of people, and there is tremendous benefit to doing it this way.  The vast nationwide reach that is achievable from a virtual event is hugely powerful.  People from around the country can join instantly without leaving their home.

The 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting will continue to provide high quality CLE panels, national awards spotlights, and opportunities that foster membership engagement.  The FBA knows what it takes to run a successful virtual conference and meetings with attendees, sponsors, and speakers all interacting with virtual tools that make for a lively, personalized, and collaborative environment.

The Virtual Annual Meeting brings the benefits of in-person collaboration to the virtual world.  We facilitate real connections, virtually!   Sign up now at fedbar.org/fba-2020-virtual-annual-meeting.
