Please join the Oklahoma City Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and Nora Bergman as she shares lessons from her upcoming book, 50 Lessons for Happy Lawyers: Boost wellness. Build resilience. Yes, you can. The statistics are clear. Lawyers are challenged with depression, stress, anxiety, and alcohol abuse at levels much higher than the general public. But there are things we can do to increase our happiness quotient and avoid burnout. In this interactive webinar, you’ll learn why happiness, wellness, and resilience are essential to your health, your wellbeing, and your effectiveness as a lawyer. You’ll learn things you can do right now to get happy and stay happy. You also learn strategies you can apply right now to begin taking control of your calendar and your life.

About the Presenters

Nora Riva Bergman, J.D. is a law firm coach, author, and certified Atticus Practice Advisor. A licensed attorney since 1992, Nora has coached lawyers across the country and brings a deep understanding of the practice and business of law to her work with lawyers, law firms, and bar associations. She practiced as an employment law attorney and certified mediator and has served as an adjunct professor at both Stetson University College of Law and the University of South Florida, teaching courses in alternative dispute resolution and negotiation. She also served for eight years as the Executive Director of a voluntary bar association with over 1,200 members. Her background as an attorney, law professor and bar executive, gives her a unique perspective on the challenges lawyers face.

Nora is the author of 50 Lessons for Lawyers: Earn More – Stress Less – Be Awesome and 50 Lessons for Women Lawyers – From Women Lawyers. She is a graduate of the Leadership Development Institute at Eckerd College and is certified in the Conflict Dynamics Profile® developed by the Center for Conflict Dynamics at Eckerd College to help individuals and organizations deal constructively with conflict. Nora is also a graduate of Villanova University’s Lean Six Sigma Program and is certified in both DISC and EQ through Target Training International.

She has been a speaker at conferences for the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys, the National Conference of Bar Presidents, the National Association of Bar Executives, The Florida Bar and other national and regional legal organizations.

Nora received an undergraduate degree in journalism, summa cum laude, from the University of South Florida and her J.D., cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law, where she was a member of the law review and served as a mentor for incoming students
