Brendan Mohan

Brendan Mohan recently graduated magna cum laude as an honors scholar from the University of Akron School of Law in 2024. He currently serves as the Legal Fellow for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company at their headquarters in Akron, Ohio.

During law school, Brendan served as a Production Editor for the Akron Law Review, a Student Coach for the Moot Court Honor Society, and placed as an AAJ Regional Finalist as a member of the Trial Team. As a leader on and off campus, Brendan served as a President of Akron Law’s Federal Bar Association, Treasurer and Vice President for Akron Law’s Business Law Society, Community Outreach Chair for BLSA, Treasurer for the American Constitution Society, and Marshal for the Grant Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta. In addition to his leadership at Akron Law, he won two national legal writing competitions: the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel (ACEBC) writing competition and the New York State Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law writing competition, with both organizations subsequently publishing his work. Including these accolades, Brendan has authored a total of eight publications appearing in journals such as the New York State Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Journal, Saint Louis Labor and Employment Journal, Akron Law Review, ConLawNOW, ACEBC, and the American Bar Association’s Employee Benefits Newsletter.

Brendan has also showcased his work on the national stage on numerous occasions, most recently last spring at George Washington Law after being selected to present as an aspiring scholar by the American Bar Association and Yale Journal of Regulation. In recognition of his contributions to legal writing, he recently became a member of Scribes—The American Society of Legal Writers, the oldest organization of its kind.

Brendan is a dedicated member of the Federal Bar Association. He currently serves as the Former Chair of the Law Student Division and the Liaison to the Judiciary Division. He also served as a member of the 2024 FBA Membership Commitee and the 6th Circuit Representative on the Law Student Division Board. He is looking forward to continuing to work with the Federal Bar to expand its Civic’s program, inclusion and programs for first-generation law students, and its advocacy for the Federal Judiciary.

In his free time, Brendan enjoys volunteering as an Exchange Scholar for the National Constitution Center and as an Attorney Volunteer for the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland. As a Type-One diabetic, he enjoys baking homemade bread and sweets. He enjoys staying active in nature, working within the sports industry in Cleveland, and collecting old-school records.
