About the Presenters
John Huber, Esq., Shareholder, Greenberg Traurig
John Huber, Esq., was the longest-tenured United States Attorney in the United States for four years, serving as U.S. Attorney for the District of Utah from 2015-2021. First nominated by President Obama and later re-nominated by President Trump, Mr. Huber was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate both times. During his tenure, Mr. Huber was entrusted with sensitive investigations that were the subject of intense scrutiny on the national stage. With decades of litigation experience, Mr. Huber has personally tried hundreds of civil and criminal cases to verdict, including personally trying 11 cases to jury verdict and supervising and directing 30+ others in federal court. Mr. Huber has handled matters of national security, terrorism, espionage, controlled substances diversion, trade secrets, and has prosecuted high-profile cases against individuals and organized crime groups. He was also appointed as a “leader amongst leaders” on the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee of U.S. Attorneys (AGAC), where he helped shape and oversee U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) practice and policy over two presidential administrations. Mr. Huber is currently a Shareholder at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, based out of its Salt Lake City Offices. Mr. Huber’s experience and current focus include complex investigations and litigation of fraud involving corporations, financial institutions, securities, health care, trade secrets and false claims.
Susan Macpherson, Senior Litigation Consultant; Vice-President, NJP Litigation Consulting/Midwest
Susan Macpherson is a founding member and Vice-President of NJP Consulting’s Midwest Regional Office located in Minneapolis. She has been active in the area of jury research since 1976 and has advised attorneys across the United States on complex commercial, antitrust, intellectual property, class action and criminal cases. Ms. Macpherson has conducted thousands of focus groups, trial simulations and post-trial interviews for state and federal cases across the nation for nearly 50 years. Ms. Macpherson is a contributor to the National Jury Project (NJP)’s practice manual, JURYWORK; Systematic Techniques (Thomson West, updated annually). Ms. Macpherson is a former Board Member of the American Society of Trial Consultants (ASTC) and was a recipient of the ASTC’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. John C. Anderson, Partner, Holland & Hart LLP
John Anderson is a partner at Holland & Hart LLP in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where his practice focuses on civil and criminal litigation and government investigations. Prior to rejoining Holland & Hart in 2021 John served as United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico. From 2008 to 2013 John served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico where he prosecuted primarily white collar criminal cases. John also previously served as an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York and as a law clerk to the Honorable Paul J. Kelly Jr. on the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. John received his undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College and his law degree from Fordham University.
