You are invited to take full advantage of your honorary membership, available to all active, senior, and retired judges of the federal bench. Your honorary membership is with the national FBA as well as your local FBA chapter and the Judiciary Division. Honorary members have full rights and privileges of membership but are exempt from payment of dues. You may accept your honorary membership by completing the quick form below.

The FBA also maintains an active presence in our nation’s capital, monitoring and participating in policy-making processes in Congress and the Executive branch. The FBA’s government relations program devotes its resources to advocate for policy priorities, including:

  • Federal Judgeships and Caseloads
  • Independence of the Federal Judiciary
  • Independent Article I Immigration Courts

The FBA’s Judiciary Division offers members of the bench the opportunity to share insights from their respective jurisdictions, while providing opportunities to promote programs designed to support lawyers. Division members also can participate in many unique FBA programs and services, including the Judicial Intern Academy, the Civil Discourse and Difficult Decisions Program, the Law Clerk Directory, Judicial Profiles and authoring articles for The Federal Lawyer, and leadership paths nationally and within each chapter, section, and division.
