Message from the President


Welcome to the South Carolina Chapter of the Federal Bar Association! With over 400 members, we are currently the tenth largest Chapter in the country. Each year we are proud to host a number of popular events and community outreach projects for our members. These include:

  • Annual Meeting and Federal Practice CLE in September; 
  • “Introduction to Federal Practice” seminar series in Greenville, Columbia, and Charleston each summer; 
  • “Sidebar” lunches with our federal judges throughout the year; 
  • Schoolhouse to Courthouse civics events in Charleston, Columbia, and Greenville in April 2018; 
  • Training and Event support for Legal Assistance for Survivors of Trafficking (LAST), a pro bono project creating a network of attorneys prepared to represented victims of trafficking; 
  • Event and Programmatic support for Drug Mentoring Program, a voluntary program designed for individuals on pretrial or post-conviction release who suffer from substance abuse or addiction, in cooperation with the U. S. District Court and U.S. Probation, Federal Public Defender’s, and the U.S. Attorney’s Offices; 
  • Employment, Qui Tam, and Criminal Law committee work.
