Pro Bono Opportunities Available

The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida has numerous pro bono opportunities available for volunteer counsel. Brief case descriptions and copies of the CM/ECF dockets for these matter are available for review on the district court’s website, which may be found at www.flsd.uscourts.gov under Volunteer Opportunities located on the right side of the website. Or, you may visit the Broward Chapter’s LinkedIn group, which posts these opportunities by visiting https://www.linkedin.com/groups/4084774.

Through a grant provided by the Federal Bar Association Foundation, the Broward Chapter is preparing a guide to assist pro se litigants with understanding the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the Local Rules for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. The hope is that the Guide will provide pro se litigants with answers to what practitioners treat as commonplace every day information when litigating in federal court. This Guide would be free to pro se litigants, and would be a companion to a live (videotaped) presentation. The Chapter is looking for volunteers who will assist in preparing and otherwise keeping the Guide up-to-date. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Brian L. Lerner at blerner@kvllaw.com.
