DESCRIPTION:Virtual Only! (Zoom) \nPanel discussion of significant and impactful SCOTUS decisions from the 2021 and 2022 terms. Participants will be able to ask questions. \nPanelists\nDaniel S. McConkie\, Jr.\, Associate Professor of Law\, Northern Illinois University College of Law\nProfessor McConkie teaches courses in Criminal Law and Procedure and the First Amendment. Professor McConkie was a state and federal prosecutor in California for eight years. Professor McConkie holds a B.A. degree in History from the University of Utah (2001)\, where he graduated cum laude\, and a J.D. degree from Stanford Law School (2004)\, where he was a Public Interest Fellow. From 2013 to 2015\, Professor McConkie was a visiting professor at the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. \nLorianne Updike Toler\, Assistant Professor of Law\, Northern Illinois University College of Law\nProfessor Updike Toler teaches courses in Legal History\, International Public Law and Professional Responsibility. Prior to her work at NIU\, Professor Updike Toler was a Faculty Fellow at New England Law School in Boston\, MA and taught Property and First Amendment Law. She is an Affiliated Faculty Fellow with the Information Society Project at Yale Law School.
