Barnes\, Partner\, Kirkland & Ellis LLP \nBen is a trial lawyer and litigation partner in the Dallas office\, focusing on high-profile and complex disputes in Texas and across the country. A courtroom veteran\, Ben has ushered public companies\, investment firms\, entrepreneurs\, and corporate fiduciaries through trials\, injunction hearings\, and arbitrations. His substantive experience includes energy\, corporate governance\, antitrust\, real estate\, and trade secrets disputes. Ben has an active restructuring litigation practice and has represented debtors\, creditors\, and committees in a number of contested matters and adversary proceedings. He also has considerable experience representing post-confirmation trustees on a contingency or alternative fee basis. \nBen’s superior trial work has earned him recognition from both legal media and his peers. Best Lawyers identified Ben as “One to Watch” in 2021\, Texas Super Lawyer has named him a “Rising Star” since 2018\, and D Magazine lists him among the best lawyers in Dallas under 40. He has served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps Reserve since 2010 and also serves the local community through the Exchange Club of East Dallas\, which supports the underrepresented children of East Dallas. \nHon. Elizabeth L. Gunn\, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge \nHon. Elizabeth L. Gunn was appointed to serve as bankruptcy judge for the District of Columbia on September 4\, 2020. A COVID-era selection and appointment\, she was sworn in by Zoom from her living room and did not conduct her first in person proceeding until March 2022. Before her appointment\, Judge Gunn served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Virginia as the bankruptcy specialist for the Division of Child Support Enforcement. Prior to joining the Office of the Attorney General\, Judge Gunn was in private practice in Richmond\, Virginia. In 2017\, Judge Gunn was recognized by the American Bankruptcy Institute as a member of its inaugural class of 40 Under 40. Judge Gunn serves on the advisory board of the American Bankruptcy Institute Law Journal\, the board of the Federal Bar Association Bankruptcy Section\, is a former board member of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation\, a former committee chair of the Consumer and Litigation Committees of the American Bankruptcy Institute\, and is an Associate Editor of the American Bankruptcy Institute Law Journal. She is a member of the Walter Chandler Bankruptcy Inn of Court and is Board Certified in Consumer Law by the American Board of Certification. Judge Gunn received her BA\, cum laude\, from Willamette University in Salem\, Oregon and her law degree\, cum laude\, from Boston College Law School. \nProfessor Sally Henry\, John E. Krahmer Banking and Commercial Endowed Professor of Law\, Texas Tech University School  \nSally McDonald Henry is the John E. Krahmer Endowed Professor of Banking and Commercial Law at the Texas Tech School of Law.  She is a 2022 recipient of the Texas Tech University Chancellor’s Council Distinguished Teaching Award\, the highest award given by Texas Tech University for teaching.
