SUMMARY:Webinar: From Burnout to Balance: Strategies for a Sustainable Law Practice
DESCRIPTION:**Program hosted in (ET) time zone** \nThis Wellness program is designed to help attorneys break the cycle of burnout and develop a more sustainable approach to their law practice and personal well-being. The program will begin with a presentation that explores the causes and consequences of burnout\, and provide practical strategies for managing stress\, building resiliency\, and developing healthy habits to maintain a work-life balance. By the end of the program\, attendees will be equipped with tools and insights to not only help maintain a healthy\, sustainable approach to their legal careers but to also assist them in creating law firms that promote employee well-being and resilience. \nPresented by the Professional Development Committee and Younger Lawyers Division \nRegister Now!\n\nAbout the Presenters\nModerator: Benjamin de Seingalt\, Corporate Counsel and Director of Compliance and Privacy\, MarketVision Research\nBenjamin de Seingalt is the Corporate Counsel and Director of Compliance and Privacy for MarketVision Research\, one of the largest primary market research and consulting firms in the United States. His work focuses on global privacy compliance\, corporate social responsibility\, artificial intelligence\, and post-market drug surveillance. Ben is also a Senior Fellow at the Lawyers’ Committee for Cultural Heritage Preservation and serves on the board of the Federal Bar Association’s Section on Civil Rights\, the BHBIA’s Ethics and Compliance Committee\, ESOMAR’s AI Task Force\, Intellus’ Data Integrity and Artificial Intelligence Task Force\, and the Insights Association’s Standards Committee. He is a graduate of Tulane University Law School\, the A.B. Freeman School of Business\, and Washington College. \n\n\n\n \nAmy Boyle\, Managing Partner\, MSB Employment Justice\nAmy Boyle is the Managing Partner at MSB Employment Justice in Minneapolis\, Minnesota. After working in law firms\, in 2021 Boyle and her partners founded MSB Employment Justice. Their motivation for starting a new firm was generated by a feeling there is a better way to serve clients compared to what the partners had experienced in the past working at other firms. This motivation translates to how Boyle and her partners run the law firm and manage their team. They take a non-traditional and “whole person” approach that benefits the firm\, its employees\, and their clients.\nShe handles all types of employment matters\, with a particular focus on representing women who have experienced sex discrimination\, sexual harassment and assault\, and retaliation at work and whistleblower clients who have reported illegal workplace practices or companies engaged in deceitful conduct. Amy also represents clients who have found themselves in an untenable work situation\, advising and negotiating severance agreements for executive-level employees often leaving long-term employment.\nBoyle is the Chair of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section and a Past Chair of the Younger Lawyers Division. A frequent speaker on the topics of employment law\, discovery\, trial\, and diversity and inclusion\, Boyle has organized and presented at many FBA events. SUMMARY:Qui Tam Section: [VIRTUAL] Scienter in the Aftermath of SuperValu
DESCRIPTION:**Program hosted in (ET) time zone**\n\nMore than a year ago\, the Supreme Court in SuperValu substantively addressed the False Claims Act’s scienter element\, holding that scienter refers to a particular defendant’s knowledge and subjective beliefs\, not to what an objectively reasonable person may have known or believed. This panel will examine how lower courts have interpreted and applied SuperValu\, trends in those decisions that may impact how False Claims Act cases are pursued and defended\, practice pointers\, and open issues to be decided. \n***This Event does not offer CLE credit*** \n                                               [Register Today]\n\n  \nPresented by the FBA Qui Tam Section \n  \nSPEAKERS\nMichael D.
