This second webinar will address filing lawsuits for applications that are processing outside of stated processing times and lawsuits filed under the Administrative Procedure Act (APA). \nRegister Now!\nPresented by the Immigration Law Section \n\nPresenters\n Kate Melloy Goettel\, Associate Clinical Law Professor\, University of Iowa College of Law. \n\nKate Melloy Goettel is an associate clinical law professor at the University of Iowa College of Law\, where she directs the Federal Impact Litigation Clinic. Before joining Iowa Law\, Goettel served as senior legal director for the American Immigration Council\, where she led impact litigation focusing on unlawful detention\, the laws surrounding immigrant youth\, interior enforcement\, and family separation. Prior to that she was a litigator at the National Immigrant Justice Center and senior litigation counsel at the Department of Justice. She has practiced in nearly 40 federal district courts\, eight courts of appeal\, and the U.S. Supreme Court. In 2019\, Kate received the NGO Lawyer of the Year award from the Federal Bar Association’s Immigration Law Section and in 2022\, received the association’s Barry Frager Award for service to the section. \n \nLauren McClure\, Partner\, Kriezelman Burton & Associates\, LLC. \nLauren McClure is a Partner with Kriezelman Burton & Associates\, LLC. She is admitted to practice law in the state of Illinois.
