Enjoy a guided tour to learn about the German political system and its history. \nBerlin | Friday – May 8\, 2026 \nGroup visit to the Moabit Criminal Court and/or the Berlin Bar Association. \nMoabit Criminal Court\nThe Moabit Criminal Court (Kriminalgericht Moabit) is renowned for its impressive architecture. The building’s design and symbolism reflect moral and social values\, making it a significant site for those interested in legal history and architecture. \nBerlin Bar Association\nThe Berlin Bar Association serves as the professional body for attorneys in the city. During the visit\, gain insights into the German legal profession and opportunities for engaging with local practitioners. \nBerlin/Potsdam | Saturday- May 9\, 2026 \nPotsdam – the former royal seat of Prussia \nEn route\, travelers pass the Glienecke Bridge\, famously known as the “Bridge of Spies\,” where American and Soviet powers exchanged captured agents during the Cold War.  Before arriving in Postdam\, visit House of Wannsee Conference\, the lakeside villa where senior Nazi officials cooridnated the so-called “Final Solution.” \nContinue on to Potsdam and visit Sanssouci Palace\, a UNESCO World Heritage Site\, once the summer palace of Frederick the Great. \nTime permitting\, on return to Berlin\, visit the Cecilienhof Palace\, where the 1945 Postdam Conference was held. \nNuremberg | Sunday – May 10\, 2026 \nDepart Berlin for the city of Nuremberg\, and historic and cultural center deeply tied to the legacy of international justice.  Following an afternoon lunch\, enjoy an orientation walk within view of Castle’s (Kaiserberg) medieval skyline through the atmospheric Old Town \nNuremberg/Munich | Monday – May 11\, 2026 \nNuremberg Palace of Justice: Legacy of the Nuremberg Trials\nThe first stop today is the Justizgebäude (Palace of Justice)\, where the Nuremberg Trials took place following World War II. Visit Courtroom 600 and its companion museum providing powerful insight into the origins of modern international criminal law and the prosecution of war crimes. \nToday participants pre-select the option of (A) visiting the Dachau Concentration camp\, or (B) early arrival with free time in Munich. \nTrack A: Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site\nOn arrival\, take part in a guided visit of the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site\, the location of the first Nazi concentration camp\, established in 1933. Today\, it stands as a solemn site of memory and education\, commemorating the victims and examining the mechanisms of persecution and injustice. Court calendars permitting\, we observe part of a public hearing to gain firsthand insight into judicial protocol in a civil law system. \nFrom Stein to Statute: Legal Traditions of German Beer\nThis session explores the legal and cultural history of beer in Germany—from medieval brewing guilds to modern alcohol regulations.
