DESCRIPTION:The Federal Bar Association is reviving the Northern District of Indiana Chapter to reconstitute the chapter with new\nleadership\, enhance the practice of law within the federal courts through continuing legal education\, and create professional networking opportunities for attorneys and judges. \nTo launch this initiative\, the Federal Bar Association\, with help from Lake County’s Calumet American Inns of Court\, is\nhosting an in-person Bench & Bar CLE. Join federal judges and practitioners for a day of substantive discussion on criminal\nand civil practice\, followed by a reception in the courthouse atrium. \nConfirmed Judges\nDistrict Judges Philip P. Simon\, Gretchen S. Lund\, and Cristal C. Brisco (participating remotely)\, and Magistrate Judges\nAndrew P. Rodovich\, John E. Martin\, Abizer A. Zanzi\, and Andrew C. Teel. \nTopics & Takeaways\nAttendees will gain valuable insights into judicial expectations and best practices in federal litigation. Topics may include: summary judgment\, motion practice\, discovery\, settlement conferences\, pretrial detention\, trial\, sentencing\, state-court removals and remands. \nSchedule of Events\n• 8:30–9:30 – Registration & Morning Refreshments\n• 9:30–Noon – Morning CLE Sessions\n• Noon–12:30 – Boxed Lunches Served\n• 12:30–2:30 – Afternoon CLE Sessions\n• 2:30–4:00 – Reception in Atrium \nCLE Credit & Cost\nThe event\, including morning refreshments\, lunch\, and reception\, is free of charge.
