For example\, several designers filed suit in California alleging RICO violations against Shein. Using RICO to protect intellectual property is an unusual strategy. Panelists will explore recent theories advocated by rights holders that might pave the way for future precedent. \nSuccession Planning and the Fashion Industry: Death and the Aftermath of an Acquisition \n4:45 pm- 5:45pm \nThis panel will address the difficulties faced by eponymous fashion brands\, and the exit of a namesake fashion designer. Whether sudden or anticipated\, such exits can result in contentious proceedings involving heirs or the owners of a successor entity. Panelists will address asset protection strategies and discuss common contentious issues encountered in such circumstances.
