DESCRIPTION:Join expert immigration attorneys James Hollis and Lily Axelrod in a discussion on complicated Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and their strategies for responding to them. Panelists will cover both employment and family based immigration topics\, and best practices for both. \n  \nPresented by the Immigration Law Section \n  \nRegistration is Closed \n\nPresenters\nJames Hollis\, Attorney\, Siskind Susser \nJames W. Hollis is an attorney at Siskind Susser\, PC where his practice focuses exclusively on U.S. immigration and nationality law. Mr. Hollis represents individuals and employers in nonimmigrant and immigrant visa administrative matters before US Citizenship and Immigration Services\, the Department of State\, the Department of Labor\, and US Customs and Border Protection. \nMr. Hollis works extensively with entrepreneurs\, professionals\, and talent workers and their employers to navigate complex immigration application processes. He has served as a trusted advisor to many individual clients\, as well as to top level professional sports organizations\, entertainment industry groups\, publicly traded corporations\, and entrepreneurs leading high growth startups. \nMr. Hollis is frequently invited to present on business immigration law topics by the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He has also served as Lecturer in Business Immigration Law at the Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law. He has been recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers and as a Future Leader in the category of Corporate Immigration by Who’s Who Legal. \nMr. Hollis graduated from Furman University and Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. He is a fitness and soccer enthusiast and frequently spends his weekend mornings supporting Everton Football Club. \nLily S. Axelrod\, Founding Attorney\, Axelrod Immigration Law \nBefore founding Axelrod Immigration Law\, Ms. Axelrod worked at Siskind Susser\, one of North America’s leading immigration law firms. There\, she had the honor to learn from some of the country’s brightest and most dedicated attorneys\, and received national recognition among her peers for teaching complex and nuanced topics. After years of cheering on many of her own clients starting small businesses\, Ms. Axelrod gained the confidence and inspiration to do the same. She founded Axelrod Immigration Law in December of 2022. \nMs. Axelrod previously worked at the intersection of immigration law and criminal defense at Masferrer & Associates in Boston\, Massachusetts. She represented clients accused of felonies and misdemeanors before local\, state\, and federal courts\, including appeals and post-conviction relief such as motions for new trial. She also defended clients in removal proceedings before the Boston Immigration Court\, focusing on finding creative strategies for clients with criminal records. \nMs. Axelrod graduated with honors from Harvard Law School\, where she served as President of the Harvard Immigration Project and an editor of the Harvard Latino Law Review. As a law student\, Ms. Axelrod provided over 1500 hours of pro bono legal services through the Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinic\, the Harvard Criminal Justice Institute\, and Greater Boston Legal Services.
