On behalf of\u00a0my fellow\u00a0Officers and\u00a0Board\u00a0Members, I am\u00a0honored and\u00a0pleased to welcome\u00a0all of\u00a0you to the\u00a0Alternative Dispute Resolution (\u201cADR\u201d) Section of\u00a0\u00a0the Federal Bar Association\u00a0(\u201cFBA\u201d), and to\u00a0re-introduce myself as\u00a0Section\u00a0Chair for the\u00a0new\u00a0term that will end\u00a0on\u00a0September\u00a030, 2026.\u00a0As we begin this new\u00a0FBA\u00a0year, I would like to extend a\u00a0genuine\u00a0welcome to all our\u00a0professional and student\u00a0members \u2014 both new and returning \u2014 to the\u00a0ADR.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I look forward to\u00a0collaborating with\u00a0you as we continue to grow, learn, and advance our shared mission.\u00a0Thanks largely to the great leadership we have had over the last\u00a0few\u00a0years (namely,\u00a0of Amy Boyle, Esq., Immediate Past Chair and her predecessor, Jo Stanley, Esq.), we\u00a0are in the midst of\u00a0the ADR\u00a0Section\u2019s renaissance and\u00a0what\u00a0an exciting time it is!\u00a0This year, I am pleased to announce that I am\u00a0most excellently\u00a0assisted by Lori Adelson, Esq. and Laurel Stevenson, Esq. (who also wears the hat of Editor for the ADR Section\u2019s Newsletter, The Resolver\u00ae) round out the Board\u00a0at this time.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The new\u00a0FBA\u00a0year brings fresh opportunities to connect, collaborate, and contribute to the legal profession in meaningful ways. Whether through continuing legal education programs, advocacy initiatives, networking events, or community outreach, our\u00a0ADR Section remains committed to supporting your professional development.\u00a0Together we are\u00a0committed to ensuring the\u00a0vitality\u00a0of the\u00a0ADR\u00a0and to bring value to your membership in the\u00a0ADR\u00a0Section.\u00a0By building on the solid foundation laid down by\u00a0our\u00a0past officers, and adding our own skill sets and\u00a0energies, we\u00a0will\u00a0deliver an enhanced experience this year and for years to come.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With the invaluable aid and assistance of\u00a0Mike McCarthy and other amazing\u00a0FBA\u00a0national staff\u00a0personnel, we will strive to create programs and publications to guide you, to teach\u00a0you, and to facilitate collegiality with fellow\u00a0ADR\u00a0practitioners.\u00a0In the coming weeks, we will be sharing our calendar of events, initiatives, and opportunities for involvement. We encourage you to actively participate \u2014 whether by attending events, volunteering for a committee,\u00a0reading the newsletter,\u00a0or simply connecting with fellow members. Your engagement makes our section stronger.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We are certain that many of you will benefit from what the\u00a0ADR\u00a0Section\u00a0has to offer.\u00a0 And, for those of you who\u00a0desire\u00a0to get\u00a0more\u00a0personally involved, we\u00a0seek\u00a0and\u00a0solicit\u00a0your help and active participation.\u00a0 We\u00a0still\u00a0have\u00a0one officer slot, and some\u00a0open\u00a0committee appointments to fill at this time.\u00a0Read\u00a0The\u00a0Resolver.\u00ae\u00a0\u00a0Come to our events.\u00a0 With your help, we can grow the\u00a0ADR\u00a0not just in size, but\u00a0in\u00a0FBA\u00a0stature and reputation.\u00a0And\u00a0remember: \u201cAn ounce of mediation is worth a pound of arbitration and a ton of litigation!\u201d \u2014 Joseph Grynbaum<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
