Derrick Ransom II

Derrick Ransom is a 2024 graduate of The University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. In law school, he competed in the Thurgood Marshall Moot Court Competition, where he won regional awards and went on to compete at the national level. He currently serves as the Sixth Circuit Representative of the Federal Bar Association’s Law Student Division and Co-Chair of the Law Student Engagement committee where he has interacted with students locally and nationally. Since passing the bar he has worked as an associate attorney in a private firm and he is now serving as a term law clerk in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Louisiana. As an attorney, Derrick practiced commercial litigation, family law, and professional liability defense in federal and state cases. In law school he served as an extern for Chief Judge Latta at the U.S Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Tennessee, and interned for the Harris County Civil Court in Houston, Texas.
