Message
from the President
Greetings!
The Sacramento Chapter of the Federal Bar Association is an active group
of lawyers dedicated to improving the knowledge and skills of federal
practitioners, providing a forum for communication between the court and
practitioners, as well as finding ways to better serve our community.
This year we are planning many new seminars and programs, as well a bringing
back favorites such as our annual summer review of key Supreme Court decisions.
In February we will again support “Protect & Defend” -
The Constitutional Project, whose mission is to rally members of the bar
to promote the values of American Government and the Constitution in public
schools. The program gives FBA members a unique opportunity to join with
members of the Bar to meet with educators and students in the community
to promote important civic values. The program ends on May 1 with a Law
Day Dinner and awards ceremony.
March 4 will be our first mixer- open to all members free of charge.
In October we will be hosting a reception for a 9th Circuit Panel of Judges
when they come to Sacramento to hear cases. The reception will allow our
members an opportunity to talk about appellate practice and procedures
in an informal setting.
And finally, we will continue to provide you with our excellent periodic
newsletter, which contains interesting news and wonderful articles about
the legal history of the Eastern District of California.
We look forward to serving you, and invite suggestions as to topics to
be covered, possible speakers or other ideas to help us serve you better.
