A Message from the Chapter President

I am pleased and excited to assume the duties of President of our chapter of the Federal Bar Association as of October 1, 2007. The best part is the opportunity to work with our excellent Officers and dedicated Board of Directors to continue the stewardship of our fine organization.

The Northern District of Ohio chapter is one of the largest and most active FBA chapters in the country and one of the most frequently awarded. This year we intend to expand and enhance services to all of our members, which include federal judicial officers, government attorneys, lawyers from small and large firms, and in-house counsel. Look for a variety of CLE programs, receptions, brown bag lunches, and membership recruiting events that either are already listed on our Schedule of Events or will be listed in the coming months.

We also intend to reach out to more attorneys in different areas of practice and from locations across Northern Ohio to bring together more members of the bench and bar in both formal and informal settings. Our chapter’s goal is to develop better professional relationships among practitioners, and among practitioners and members of the federal judiciary.

We invite our members to attend our upcoming receptions and CLE presentations. We also encourage you to consider penning an article for our award-winning newsletter, Inter Alia, or to volunteer for one of our award-winning community service programs. If you are reading and are not already a member, please consider joining the FBA and our chapter. With your help, we can make the Northern District of Ohio an even more fulfilling place to practice.
