A
Message from the Chapter President
Greetings! The Chicago Chapter
covers the Northern District of Illinois and has nearly 400 members to
our credit. I am proud to say that, our Board of Directors, past presidents,
and members include many in the federal and state judicial system, as
well as attorneys in private practice, governmental agencies and academia.
If you have not already done so, I invite you to join the Federal Bar
Association and the Chicago Chapter. I look forward to seeing you at our
monthly luncheons.
Charles L. Nesbit
Chicago Chapter President
**The Chicago Chapter is launching a
campaign to endow the Michael Francis Lefkow FBA Public Interest Fellowship
Program at the Northwestern University School of Law. The fellowship will
permit law students to accept paid summer internships across the country
and represent the poor and vulnerable.
If you would like to contribute to this effort, please make your check
payable to the "Federal Bar Foundation" and mail it to the Federal
Bar Association, P.O. Box 1200, Chicago, Illinois 60690. We urge you to
support our effort to establish a memorial to an exceptional attorney
and to recognize the extraordinary sacrifice that was forced upon his
wife, Hon. Joan Humphrey Lefkow of the U.S. District Court for the Northern
District of Illinois. Read letter
from Chapter President Jack J. Carriglio regarding the fellowship program.
