INTRODUCTION

We are pleased to share with you another issue of the FBA’s Admiralty Law eNewsletter – Admiralitas. Thank you to those who have shared positive feedback and offered to share content for future issues. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our contributors if you have any questions or comments about this issue. And please let me know if you would be interested in contributing to the next issue.

In this issue, we spotlight Michael F. Sturley, an Admiralty law professor at University of Texas Law School, who shares with us his experiences, from clerking for Justice Powell in the United State Supreme Court to his experiences teaching and advising on important maritime issues. We also have a very informative article in this issue regarding maritime liens, thanks to Benjamin Dowers.

Finally, we have another robust summary of recent maritime case law from throughout the country. Thanks to George M. Chalos, Douglas W. Truxillo, Michael McLeod, Arthur A. Severance, and Scott Bluestein for the hard work that goes into these summaries.

As always, we appreciate your comments and suggestions as we continue to grow Admiralitas.

We hope you enjoy the newsletter.
