Prize Descriptions and How to Win!
The 2010 Chapter Challenge membership campaign will give your Chapter the opportunity to grow while also making some money!
- Chapters will be divided into 5 divisions based on number of members*;
- First, second, and third place prizes will be awarded to the three Chapters with the largest net percentage increase in membership* in each division: 1st Place: $2,000 • 2nd Place: $1,000 • 3rd Place: $500
- Chapters may recruit anyone who meets FBA active membership criteria: Active membership is open to any person admitted to the practice of law before a federal court or a court of record in any of the several states, commonwealths, territories, or possessions of the United States or in the District of Columbia.
*Foreign associates and law student associates will not be included in the chapter membership numbers.
Time Frame
All new membership applications and renewal payments must be received in the Federal Bar Association national office by August 31, 2010, to be counted in the chapter membership numbers. The initial chapter membership numbers will be posted online January 10, 2010. Membership numbers are based solely on the membership records at the FBA national office. Please be sure to compare chapter records with the FBA national office to ensure the most accurate standings.
Chapter Challenge winners in each group will be announced at the 2010 FBA Annual Meeting and Convention in New Orleans on September 22-25.
Application Submission
There are three ways to submit applications to the Federal Bar Association:
- Mail application to the FBA, Attn: Membership Department, 1220 North Fillmore St., Suite 444, Arlington, VA 22201;
- Fax application to (571) 481-9090; or
- Join online.
All applications must be completed in full and should include the applicant’s signature accepting the authorization statement. Completed applications may be collected and submitted by the chapter or the new members may submit their own applications.
Renewal Payment Submission
Renewal notices are sent to current FBA members prior to their anniversary date of joining the FBA. Payment information and payment address is included in the notice. Contact the FBA Membership Department at (571) 481-9100 or membership@fedbar.org with any questions.
