Hon. Alison S. Bachus, Vice President for the Circuits Chair

Alison S. Bachus serves as a Judge for the Superior Court of Arizona in Maricopa County. Prior to her appointment to the bench by Arizona Governor Ducey in September 2015, Judge Bachus was Senior Counsel for the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Phoenix, Arizona. Before joining the Bureau of Prisons, Judge Bachus was an Assistant United States Attorney for seven years and a judicial law clerk for then-Chief Judge Stephen M. McNamee in U.S. District Court in Phoenix. Judge Bachus has been active with FBA since joining upon her admission as an attorney. At the chapter level, Judge Bachus served as Treasurer of the Phoenix Chapter in 2007-08, as Secretary in 2008-09, President-Elect in 2009-10, and President in 2010-11. The Chapter was awarded the highest recognition by FBA for its activities during Judge Bachus’ term as President. Nationally, Judge Bachus has served as a Circuit Vice President since 2012, and she is currently Vice Chair of the Circuit Vice Presidents. She has served on national committees, including Government Relations, Membership, Chapter Activity Awards, and Nominations and Elections. Judge Bachus has presented at FBA’s annual Leadership Training since 2011, and she is co-chairing the 2016 program.
