The FBA National Convention Committee encourages leadership and members of the FBA Sections and Divisions to submit or obtain presentation proposals. If you would like to submit a proposal online, please consult relevant Section and Division leadership for endorsement. 
 
Call for Presentations Schedule

  • All presentation submissions from members of the Tampa Bay Chapter are to be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. (Eastern) on Sunday, May 19, 2019 via the online submission portal.
  • Final selection notifications will be emailed to the presentation main Point of Contact (POC) by Friday, July 5, 2019.  

Conference Curriculum/Topics
Presentation proposals should have broad appeal across practice areas and should incorporate a topic or agenda based on the following practice areas:

Alternative Dispute Resolution International Law
Antitrust & Trade Regulation Labor & Employment Law
Banking Law LGBT Law
Bankruptcy Law Qui Tam
Civil Rights Law Taxation
Criminal Law Securities Law
Environment, Energy & Natural Resources Social Security Law
Federal Litigation State & Local Government Relations 
Government Contracts Transportation & Transportation Security Law

Presentation Guidelines

  • Content and referenced materials must be educational in nature. Sales presentations, business promotion, or showcase of a service will not be accepted.
  • Materials should be original and all sources must be referenced.
  • Each speaker must agree to the submission guidelines.
  • Incomplete online submissions will not be considered.

Submission Guidelines

  • Presentation submissions are to be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. (Eastern) on Sunday, May 19, 2019 via the online submission portal. No presentation submission will be accepted for consideration after this date/time.
  • All presentation submissions must be submitted through the FBA online submission portal. A presentation that is submitted directly to an FBA staff member will not be accepted for consideration.
  • The presentation should incorporate a topic or agenda based on the practice areas listed in the above section. Special consideration may be made on a case by case basis.
  • Presentations will be no more than 60 minutes in length, including a brief segment for questions and answers.
  • Presentations should consist of no more than four speakers, including the moderator. Special considerations may be made on a case by case basis.
  • The individual responsible for submitting the presentation via the online submission portal must complete all FBA online submission portal fields. If any required field is left blank or incomplete, the presentation will not be considered by the selection committee.
  • The POC and panelists must adhere to all print, material, and CLE deadlines:

 Friday, July 5

 Promotional Brochure print deadline
 Friday, August 2  Materials deadline for all panels for CLE approval
 Friday, August 9  Onsite Program Guide print deadline

All presentations included in the conference program will be available for continuing legal education (CLE) accreditation pending receipt of all required presentation materials by the POC and panelists by the deadlines stated above.
 
Our Mutual Commitment
The FBA expects presenters to:

  • Arrange their own transportation and lodging, either by their own means or through an FBA section.
  • Acknowledge they are available to speak during any time frame of the conference and as such will not request a change to the session time frame assigned if selected.
  • Replace a speaker on their panel if one cancels.
  • Work closely with the conference organizers before the conference and meet all deadlines.
  • Provide high-quality PowerPoint presentations, in electronic format, by the deadline given.
  • Recognize that a conference presentation is an opportunity to share information and is not a showcase for promotion of business, practice, service, or product.

Honoraria
The FBA will provide a complimentary registration and tickets for the social events on the day of the presentation and grant speakers valuable professional exposure.
