Kip T. Bollin, President


Kip T. Bollin is a litigation partner at Thompson Hine LLP in Cleveland, Ohio, focusing on the defense of product liability and business claims, including putative class actions. In the product liability area, he defends personal injury, mass torts, toxic torts, warranty and premises liability actions. His business litigation practice includes the defense of class actions, commercial claims, intellectual property claims (litigation counsel, working with patent counsel), and other federal and state law causes of action. Kip is a graduate of New York University (BA 1992) and Georgetown University (JD 1995). Kip began his legal career as a clerk to the Honorable Sam H. Bell of the Northern District of Ohio, Eastern Division, 1995-1997.

Since 2003, Kip has served on the Board of the FBA's Northern District of Ohio Chapter. He served as both his chapter's Younger Lawyers Committee Chair and CLE Committee Chair, and after serving in other chapter officer positions, Kip was elected President of the NDOH Chapter for the 2010-11 term. He currently serves on the NDOH's Advisory Group, and is chairing a subcommittee analyzing the Court's default rules governing class actions. Nationally, Kip previously served on the FBA's Nominations and Elections Committee; he currently serves on the national Budget and Finance Committee, the Membership Committee, and as Chair of the Task Force for Review of Membership Growth and Benefits.
