Kip T. Bollin, President


Kip T. Bollin is a litigation partner at Thompson Hine LLP in Cleveland, Ohio, where he represents clients faced with product liability and business claims, including class actions. In the product liability area, he defends personal injury, mass and toxic torts, and warranty actions. His business litigation practice includes the defense of class actions, commercial claims, intellectual property claims (as litigation counsel), and other federal and state law causes of action.

Bollin is the Chair of the Northern District of Ohio Advisory Group, a court-appointed panel charged with providing information on matters of interest to the court, assisting in the implementation of court-adopted programs, and bringing to the court's attention matters of interest to the bar and the community. He previously served as co-chair of the group's Civil Rules Committee.

Bollin joined the Board of the FBA's Northern District of Ohio Chapter in 2003, and served as the chapter's Younger Lawyers Committee Chair and CLE Committee Chair. After serving in other chapter officer positions, he was elected President of the NDOH Chapter for the 2010-11 term. Nationally, he has served on many committees and was the Chair of the Task Force for Review of Membership Growth and Benefits created by former president Bob DeSousa. Bollin was elected to the national FBA Board of Directors in 2012, and has since been elected Treasurer and President-elect of the Federal Bar Association.

Bollin is a graduate of New York University and Georgetown Law. He was admitted to the practice of law in 1995. Bollin began his legal career as a law clerk to Hon. Sam H. Bell of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. He lives in Rocky River, Ohio, with Cathy, his wife of 22 years, their children Emily (18) and Kenny (16), and their dog Toby (7).
