
Beth Smith served as a member on the Board of Directors of the Federal Bar Association for the 2010-11 FBA year, having been appointed to fill an unexpired term. Beth looks forward to serving a three year term as a director beginning this year.
Beth served the San Antonio Chapter as Treasurer, Vice-President, President-Elect and President.
In 2004, Beth began her service as a Fifth Circuit Vice President for four years. During the same time Beth served and then chaired the Chapter Activity Fund. As a Circuit Vice President, Beth oversaw 11 chapters in the Fifth Circuit, along with a co-Vice President. During her years as a Circuit Vice President, Beth twice served on the committee which considers the chapter applications for National FBA awards. Beth has participated in many of the National FBA meetings since 2004 and has assisted with the Leadership Training sessions. Beth also attended the Fifth Circuit Judicial Conference in May 2005 representing the FBA. In 2008, Beth became chair of the FBA Membership Committee, leading the Membership Committee during two Membership Drives. Beth continues to be involved in local San Antonio Chapter and has enjoyed her years of service.
In addition to her membership with the Federal Bar Association, Beth is a member of the State Bar of Texas, College of the State Bar of Texas, the San Antonio Bar Association, the Bexar County Women’s Bar Association and the San Antonio Bankruptcy Bar Association. Beth also serves on the State Bar of Texas Bankruptcy Council and is state chair of the MoneyWise financial education program for high school students.
Beth operates the Law Offices of Elizabeth G. Smith in San Antonio, Texas. She is licensed to practice before all U.S. District Courts in Texas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Beth has extensive litigation experience involving a wide range of litigation matters and now concentrates her practice in the area of Creditor’s Rights.
