The FBA Board of Directors are the governing body of the association.
The Board of Directors consists of the president, president-elect, treasurer, and 12 elected directors who represent segments of the membership. There are three ex officio members and the executive director who attend Board meetings but are non-voting members of the Board.
Officers

Kip T. Bollin is a litigation partner at Thompson Hine LLP in Cleveland, Ohio, focusing on the defense of product liability and business claims, including putative class actions.

Maria Z. Vathis is Of Counsel at Bryan Cave LLP in Chicago. She has been a member of the Federal Bar Association since the beginning of her legal career.

Christian K. Adams is the founder and managing partner at Adams Miyashiro Krek LLP headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii where he concentrates his practice on complex civil and appellate litigation.
Elected Members

West serves as Government Relations Committee Chair for the FBA. He previously served as Chair of the Federal Bar Association’s Vice Presidents of the Circuits from 2009 to 2011.

Judge Bachus has been a Vice President for the Ninth Circuit since 2012, and has worked to foster better communication between chapters and National and to marshal resources to keep programming vital and our membership engaged.

Since October 2011, he has served as a Circuit Vice President for the Fourth Circuit as well as on the FBA’s Community Outreach Committee.

Hon. Robin E. Feder (personal capacity) was appointed as an immigration judge by the United States Department of Justice, Executive Office for Immigration Review, in November 2006. She is the immediate past chair of the Board of Immigration Appeals Precedent Decision Committee.

David Goodwin is an attorney with Gustafson Gluek PLLC. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison (B.A. 2001) and DePaul University College of Law (J.D. 2006). David was admitted to the Minnesota Bar in 2006.

Karleen Green has a blended labor and employment practice which concentrates on employee benefits and employment matters for both public and private employers, including compliance with federal and state employment laws as well as ERISA, HIPAA, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and COBRA. She represents clients in various industries, including construction, health care, public utilities, package and freight delivery, financial services, fueling, gaming, industrial equipment, insurance, real estate, food service, education, and state and local government.

Jonathan Hafen has extensive experience representing clients in federal and state courts. He has been widely praised by clients and peers for his skilled and efficient approach to litigation. As a trial lawyer, Hafen handles a wide variety of litigation, including cases in the areas of securities and investment law, employment law, breach of contract, property disputes, road and access cases, intellectual property, medical devices, pharmaceutical products, disputes over ownership and control of businesses, class actions, and construction law.

At the national level of the FBA, he currently serves on the Community Service Committee and
previously served as the Chair of the Chapter Activity Fund Committee, as a member of the
GRC, as a member of the SOLACE Committee, as a member of the Elections and Nominations
Committee, and as a member of the Board of the YLD.

Glen McMurry formally joined the FBA in August 2010, shortly before his election as president of the Dayton, Ohio, Chapter. At that time, the Dayton Chapter’s membership hovered between 20 and 30 members, and the chapter hosted only one event per year.

Scalise has been a member of the Federal Bar Association for over 15 years, and has served in a leadership role for all of those years.

Vildan Teske is a founding partner of Teske, Micko, Katz, Kitzer & Rochel in Minneapolis, Minn. She has a national practice focused on complex litigation on behalf of consumers, employees, and service members.

Ex Officio Members

Brett is the Vice President for the Circuits Chair and a member of the FBA since 2004 and sits on the national Membership Committee.

Matt has been active in the FBA since 2004. He has been a board member of the Younger Lawyers Division for several years and has recently served as Chair. He is also the co-chair of the FBA’s Supreme Court Admissions Program, which is coordinated by the YLD.

Jessica is a Trial Attorney specializing in Government Contracts and Federal Employment Litigation at the Commercial Litigation Branch of the United States Department of Justice located in Washington, DC where she is also a Board Member of the District of Columbia FBA Chapter.

Before establishing The Maxim Law Firm on January 1, 2009, Kevin practiced in complex litigation for more than fourteen years, most of them in what became an international law firm of 500-plus lawyers.
