Federal Bar Association Names Stacy King
as Executive Director
The Board of Directors of the Federal Bar Association is pleased to announce that Stacy King has been named Executive Director. With more than an 18-year career with the FBA, the Board’s action comes with the confidence that Ms. King will be an excellent steward of the FBA’s mission and vision.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as the Executive Director of the FBA,” Ms. King said. “During my tenure, I have contributed to, alongside numerous dedicated member volunteers and leaders, significant advancements and innovations. The FBA has and will continue to play a vital role in strengthening the federal legal system and the administration of justice, and I look forward to continuing the growth and accomplishments of this great organization.”
Since 1998, Ms. King has served the FBA in many positions and with increasing responsibility, in areas including finance, operations, communications, and membership, and most recently as Deputy Executive Director since 2012.
The Honorable Michael J. Newman, FBA National President, added, “This is an exciting time for the FBA. We are positioned well in many ways to grow and prosper for the benefit of our members, the federal judiciary, and the public they serve. Stacy’s leadership and robust experience are vital to our organization and the board is excited to have Stacy as the head of the FBA team.”
Ms. King received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin in 1998. She earned her certified association executive (CAE) designation through the American Society of Association Executives and is an active member of the National Association of Bar Executives, having served as Audit Committee Chair, Elections Committee Chair, and Scholarship Committee Vice Chair. She is a recipient of the FBA President’s Award for Distinguished Service, awarded by the Honorable Gustavo Gelpi in 2014.
